Youtube

I am sure that most of you have at least heard about Youtube.com!  If not, Youtube is a place where you can post videos that you yourself have made, or that others have made, online for anyone and everyone to see.  People post funny, serious, and even educational videos.  Youtubes own description of what they are about:  Founded in February 2005, YouTube is the leader in online video, and the premier destination to watch and share original videos worldwide through a Web experience. YouTube allows people to easily upload and share video clips on www.YouTube.com and across the Internet through websites, mobile devices, blogs, and email.

Libraries can use Youtube to do SO many different things.  Libraries can advertise their library with a video and even post that on their own website!  Bookclubs can be put on Youtube, library tutorials, book talks, information sessions, and the list goes on!

There are a lot of videos that you can check out on Youtube.com that deal with marketing your library.  Here is one that explains WHY libraries should use vidoes!

Here is an example of some library patrons helping encourage more people to use the library.

Libraries can also use videos to teach tutorials to employees and patrons.  Check out this video from Temple Univeristy.
