Podcasts

Ever wanted to listen to a radio show but missed it?  What about learning about new music?  Or finding something about the latest recipes?  These are all things one can find by using podcasts.  There is a podcast out there about anything and everything.  Podcasts are audio or video recordings distributed online, and can be made by anyone with a computer, recording software (often free), and a microphone.

Do libraries use podcasts?  They certainly do!  Some use podcasts for library news and some use it to share other information.  Take a look and listen at some library podcasts:

Denver Public Library

Kankakee Public Library

Sunnyvale Public Library

Library of Congress

For this lesson find a podcast, listen to it, and write about your experience in your blog.  It can be from one of the above libraries, or if you use itunes you can download a podcast from there.
