Flickr

Flickr is one of the most popular of the Web 2.0 tools.  Flickr is a social way to upload and share photos on the Internet. There are several Web based photo sharing sites, including Shutterfly , Photobucket, or Snapfish, but Flickr is the most popular.  Eary on, what separated Flickr from some of the other sites is that it allows users to create tags that enable users to search for similar photos using simple keywords.  It’s an organizing principle that centers around user generated contnet thet drives Flickr’s popularity.

After you’ve reviewed the video and the links, the BEST way to learn about Flickr is to go grab an account play. You’ll need a Yahoo ID to get started. Once you upload some photos, try experimenting with tags, and searching other photos to see if you can find similar tags. Explore, then write a blog post about it!
